Celebrating 30 Years of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions in Switzerland

For 30 years, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) have empowered researchers to pursue ambitious ideas and build international careers, and have driven scientific excellence across Europe and beyond. Join the Swiss MSCA community in celebrating this milestone and reflecting on the past, present and future of the programme.

Launched in 1996, the MSCA have supported more than 150 000 researchers, including 23 Nobel Prize laureates, making it one of the EU's most successful programmes for research training, mobility and innovation.

Since regaining full access to the programme last year, following a period of limited participation at the start of Horizon Europe, Switzerland has already seen strong results. This year, 114 researchers hosted by Swiss institutions were selected for funding under the most competitive MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call to date, placing Switzerland 6th among all participating countries by number of successful proposals.

To mark both Switzerland's renewed access to the programme and 30 years of MSCA, Euresearch and the University of Zurich are organising an MSCA 30th Anniversary Event in Switzerland. It will bring together researchers, MSCA alumni, research support professionals, policymakers, and representatives from research institutions to celebrate the programme's achievements, reflect on its impact and discuss its future.

The event will showcase inspiring success stories from the Swiss MSCA community, highlight the programme's contribution to excellence and international collaboration, and provide an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and expand networks. Representatives from the MSCA unit at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation will be present.

Whether you are a current or former MSCA Fellow, an MSCA Supervisor, or a research support professional involved in MSCA projects, we warmly invite you to join us for this special celebration.

We look forward to welcoming you!
